Iran and US to Hold Talks in Oman this Friday; Same Format as Prior Rounds
Tehran - BORNA - Following conducted consultations, negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place in Oman. Based on the reached agreement, these talks will be held this coming Friday.
The format of the negotiations will remain the same as previous rounds. Historically, Iran-US nuclear talks have been held in Muscat through the mediation of Oman.
In these talks, as in the previous round, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will lead the Iranian delegation. He will be accompanied by senior diplomats including Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi.
Regarding the American side, the presence of Steve Witkoff, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, as the lead negotiator is confirmed; however, there is also the possibility that Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, may attend this round of talks.
While various media speculations have emerged regarding the content of the discussions, officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have emphasized that the primary subject will be Iran’s nuclear file. One of Iran’s most significant demands remains the lifting of U.S. sanctions.
